A fundraising journey with strong ties to Ballyduff Upper is nearing its final stretch after Mikey Phelan spent more than 400 days cycling across the globe in memory of his late brother, Owen.
Mikey, whose mother Anne Phelan is from Ballyduff Upper, set out from Ballinameela, near Dungarvan on April 27th, 2025, on what was initially meant to be a two-month cycle to Athens.
Fifteen months later, the secondary school teacher is closing in on a 29,000km journey across the world, raising funds for St John’s Special School in Dungarvan through ‘Cycle For Owen’
