Castlelyons teak-tough defender, Niall O’Leary, has made history bringing his local village its first All-Star award after he was named among the select line-up of 15 for the 2026 PwC GAA/GPA Hurling All-Star team on Friday night, being one of just two Cork men on the team, alongside St Finbarr’s Brian Hayes.
The award is O’Leary’s first All-Star and comes following an outstanding performance throughout the championship season.
Speaking following the award presentation, O’Leary said it means ‘an awful lot’ to him and his home club.
