Ballyduff brothers to be honoured with Gradam Nioclás Tóibín

Ballyduff Upper men, Tomás and Séamas Ó hAoláin (Tom and Sham Hyland), are to be honoured on Friday, January 31st with the Gradam Nioclás Tóibín.

As the singing and music festival Tionól Nioclás Tóibín 2025 kicks off at the end of the month, Cárthach Mac Craith will present the award to the Hyland brothers in recognition of their contributions to music and dance in the Déise region over many years.

The opening concert of the festival takes place on January 31st from 7.30pm to 8pm at Halla Pobail na Rinne in the Gaeltacht in Waterford.

“It’s a huge honour for us,” Tom Hyland told The Avondhu, “Nioclás Tóibín would have been one of the most renowned Sean Nós singers that the country ever had.
