An invitation is being extended to business people and all other interested parties in the town and environs to go along to Fermoy Community Youth Centre on Wednesday, November 13th for a talk being given by a specialist in social media and e-marketing.
The man behind bringing Noel Davidson of QED Training to Fermoy is Business and Public Affairs consultant James J Bunyan. So impressed was he by Davidson when he heard him speak recently at a senior enterprise seminar, that he decided his was a message others could benefit from hearing.
"This guy has a unique message that's both innovative and inspirational. I felt it was too good an opportunity to pass up," JJ says.
Davidson is a business owner, mentor, trainer and general manager at QED. He's expert in social and digital media and is an Apple product and integration professional as well as an Apple certified trainer. In his time with the company he has taken many start-up and small business owners through the challenges of marketing, sales and digital media. He has experience across a range of sectors, including confectionary, hospitality, retail and leisure.
He is taking time out from a business trip to Cork to make his presentation at the breakfast meeting in Fermoy. It'll take place from 8.30 to 10am. Davidson will speak on his areas of expertise including marketing and sales promotion, business improvement, innovation and entrepreneurship. Doors will open at 8am to allow those attending to meet him, network and have tea/coffee and a scone. The presentation will get underway at 9am and will last 45 minutes, allowing time afterwards for a question and answer session.
"It's a fact now that new business is not on the high street, so how do you catch people's eye? It's about creating profile. There's been a big impact on retail of the changing world and tough economic times. We need to do something," J J Bunyan says of the venture.
The Fermoy Business Action Group, NRG Networking Group and members of the group Revive Fermoy have been invited to get involved. Transition Year students at the local secondary schools are also being invited as are members of the publiic who have an interest in social media.
Adrian Godwin, chairman of Fermoy Business Action Group, supports the idea and this week commended the local business consultant for his pro active approach, saying it is a most worthwhile initiative.
