Former Fianna Fail chairman and mayor of Fermoy Urban District Council John Hussey, was jailed on Tuesday for five years for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl on a sleepover at his home almost twenty years ago.
The Circuit Criminal Court in Cork heard that Hussey, of Corrin View, Fermoy, sexually assaulted Hannah Beresford while she was at a sleepover after attending his daughter’s birthday party.
A retired solicitor, Hussey (67) was sentenced at Cork Circuit Criminal Court where he admitted sexually assaulting Ms Beresford, then just eight years old, in November 2003.
