A fundraising event took place in Glengarra Mountain Lodge last Sunday – a former hunting lodge used by the gentry.
It's located some 11 miles outside Mitchelstown on the 'old' Cork/Dublin road, beyond the village of Skeheenarinky.
The lodge is now in the care of Burncourt Community Council who are committed to refurbishing it.
Given the age of the building, not to mention the cost, this is not going to be an easy task, however, this voluntary group have made significant progress to date.
