‘We’re still in the first minutes of the first day of the Internet revolution,’ it has been said, but one Fermoy school has taken a significant leap into the technological age, becoming the first primary school in Ireland to provide iPad’s for every one of its pupils.
Bishop Murphy Memorial School on MacCurtain Street last week unveiled its one-for-one iPad plans, which they will incorporate into the learning experience in the school.
Thanks to a large donation from an anonymous donor, as well as fundraising by the school’s Board of Management, each of the 103 pupils in the all-boy’s school will be provided with their own personal iPad for educational purposes.
