There was a party atmosphere at the Cope Foundation, Duntahane Road, Fermoy last Friday, as they officially unveiled their new wheelchair adapted bus.

A giant fundraising effort began over two years ago and culminated with the purchase of the new people carrier, which will be used on a day-to-day basis by staff and clients at the Cope Foundation in the town.

Speaking at the event, Mr Fleming was fulsome in his praise of everyone who rowed in behind their fundraising efforts.

“It’s a fantastic thing to have for Cope. It’s going to give such an ability to Cope, be it the staff or the clients of Cope, to be able to do what was previously so difficult, to take somebody who is wheelchair bound to an appointment, it was like a military exercise in the past, now it becomes much simpler.”
