A group of vintage tractor drivers in Killavullen have raised €4,000 for the Mercy Hospital Foundation in Cork.
The run, which was dedicated to the memory of Michael O'Sullivan, took place on Sunday, 25th September.
It turned out to be a great success with drivers getting tremendous support all along the route. On Friday night last, Mercy Hospital Foundation representative, Deirdre Finn, was in Magner's Bar, Killavullen to accept the cheque.
Deirdre thanked everyone associated with the run and gave a commitment that the money would be put to good and productive use. The Mercy Hospital Foundation was extremely grateful to be the beneficary of the tractor run, she said.
Organising committee member, Tim O'Sullivan, said the event was a wonderful team effort and he made a special point of thanking the drivers, those who took sponsorship cards along with the many individuals and companies who contributed financially.
He also thanked the bucket collectors, generous members of the public, the vintage run stewards and members of Killavullen Community Council who provided refreshments before and after the run.
A token of appreciation was given to the community council to acknowledge their assistance and support.
