Despite huge advances in technology and digital communcation, the art of handwriting is still a fundamental skill and the annual An Post/INTO Handwriting competition is something which keeps this skill to the fore.
A fourth class student from CBS Primary in Mitchelstown, Cathal Walsh, was awarded runner-up in his section in the national competition and received a €25 voucher, a €100 cheque for the school and also pencils and goodies for his classmates.
The school congratulated Cathal on this wonderful achievement and staff said that he has done the school proud.
CBS Primary also run their own in-school handwriting competition and the winner from each class receives a personalised laminated certificate and a handwriting pack.
