World championship medallists honoured

An impressive medals haul of 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals from the recent SKDUN World Open Karate Championships in Poland was celebrated in Crean’s Bar, Fermoy last Friday night. It was the latest success story for Fermoy Karate Club, who continue to be a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.

Pride of place went to Noreen Daly and her 2 golds and a silver, following a series of breathtaking performances in Poland at the end of October. Shane Hurley helped himself to 3 bronze and a silver, while rising star, Alison Hennessy, won a well deserved bronze medal.
