Mervue Laboratories, based in Watergrasshill, produced its millionth bottle of hand sanitiser for the HSE this week.

Reaching the milestone figure took less than two months, with Mervue having only begun production of the hand sanitiser and alcohol gels in March of this year.

In a statement on social media, the locally based company said: “We are proud to be able to contribute in some way to our front-line representatives in this time of crisis.”

Continuing, they praised production partners Irish Distillers, and acknowledged that ‘the fight against Covid-19 will be a marathon, not a sprint’.

Mervue’s ‘GelGuard’ product is now being supplied to frontline healthcare workers throughout Cork and Ireland as the fight against the disease continues.
