Supporters of Castletownroche National School were in Doneraile National Park last Friday evening for another fun run.
Adults and children joined forces to complete this 5k event which took place in wonderfully pleasant weather. More enthusiastic members of the group treated the fun run as a sprint, however, after an initial burst they were soon back in the safety of the pack.
Given the spectacular surroundings, it’s easy to see why Doneraile National Park is one of the country most visited ‘free’ outdoor attractions.
Without too much exertion, runners/walkers completed the course and once everyone was accounted for it was back to Doneraile Golf Club for refreshments.
Organisers are grateful to Doneraile Golf Club for making their facilities available.
The main beneficiary of last Friday’s fundraiser was Castletownroche National School.
Thanks to a concerted effort a generous sum was raised – all of which will go towards enhancing educational facilities at this progressive national school.
Overseen by dedicated teachers, Castletownroche NS is extremely fortunate to also have the backing of such committed and supportive parents.
