Cork County Council will sign off on a Junction Improvement Scheme for Beechfield Junction in Fermoy later this month.
The project will then go out to tender where a suitable contractor will be found and work can commence on improving the junction for both motorists and pedestrians in the area.
The council signalled their intention to proceed to a Part 8 Public Consultation Scheme for the junction last November, and now The Avondhu understands that the project will be signed off at the next meeting of Fermoy Municipal Authority, scheduled to take place in Mitchelstown on Tuesday, June 17th.
Speaking this week, Cork East TD Seán Sherlock welcomed the progression on this project. “I look forward to the council signing off on the works …”
