Up early to mark International Women’s Day

Over 50 women took part in a celebration of women within the community on Tuesday morning at an event focused on wellness at Fermoy Community Youth Centre.

Those attending the early morning ptsb organised event, were advised to bring a yoga mat, a blanket and a pillow and to join those in the wider community in a relaxed atmosphere. Held as a celebration in advance of International Women’s Day (March 8th), Liz Foley of ptsb Mitchelstown, said that they were ‘delighted’ to host the get-together.

“Everybody seemed to enjoy it, there was a great atmosphere. This event is really about celebrating International Women’s Day, but celebrating women working in our local community, be it carers working in the home, people working in shops, restaurants, accounting, solicitors or anybody that wanted to come.
