‘Tip of the iceberg’ – Lismore out in force as water issues persist

Residents, businesspeople and local councillors gathered in Lismore on Friday last as they took a strong stance against the ongoing water issues plaguing the town.

Issues reached boiling point as a burst water main on Main Street, which had been affecting local businesses and was initially repaired by Uisce Eirean, reopened and those who reported the issue were frustrated at progress to remedy the main, citing a lack of communication from the utility company.

Over the past few years, Lismore has also seen frequent and repeated water outages and low pressure, as residents have also alleged that the water is of a low quality.
