A local councillor is insisting this week that dog owners who let their dogs foul Fermoy’s streets and parks need to be named and shamed.
“People need to be held responsible: there’s an element out there that needs to be named and shamed,” Cllr Noel McCarthy, who is chair of Fermoy Tidy Towns committee, said.
Cllr McCarthy was making the comments in response to fresh calls from community activist Joe Tobin for action to be taken over continued dog fouling in the Fermoy area.
