Tesco Ireland Ltd has lodged a planning application with Cork County Council to develop a Fermoy store.
Planning for the new development, located north of Courthouse Road and east of the mill on a 2.607ha site was submitted to the council shortly before Christmas.
Planning notices have been erected at the site which is directly adjacent to the Fermoy Primary Healthcare centre at Mill Island, across from the Mart car park and extends back behind and includes the Barry’s Yard site facing on to Courthouse Road.
