
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said that he is taking Fermoy weir remediation and fish pass under his responsibility, after acknowledging that Departments had each considered the project ‘someone else’s problem’.
Speaking at Dáil Éireann last week, the Taoiseach said that the project needs to be done or costs will escalate, and acknowledged the importance of the project.
Cork East TD, Noel McCarthy raised the issue of the broken weir again, having previously raised it in March.
