Taoiseach hears of ‘crucial’ developments needed for Glanmire

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar heard of the ‘crucial need’ for sporting organisations to acquire more land as facilities in Glanmire are placed under increasing pressure due to its vastly growing population.

A public meeting with the Taoiseach was held at the Sarsfield’s Pavillion on Thursday last, August 3 as he visited the area, spearheaded by local TD Colm Burke. It is understood that a key purpose of the gathering was to highlight the rapidly expanding population versus the lack of facilities and resources in Glanmire.

Speaking with The Avondhu, Sarah McCarthy PRO of Sarsfields Hurling Club, noted that several organisations were represented on the day, including sporting clubs, the chamber of commerce, local schools, etc, to discuss what is now needed for the locality.
