‘Massive headway’ is being made on a new footpath and cycleway being developed in Watergrasshill.

The development, which will link the village to the Watergrasshill GAA club via the R639, is one that GAA Chairperson Kieran O’Keeffe says will ‘really benefit’ the club.

Speaking with The Avondhu, Mr O’Keeffe said that while the development is one which was spearheaded by the council, in particular local councillor Sheila O’Callaghan, the local community is really looking forward to its completion.

“It’s huge for us. Our underage membership is through the roof and we have over 40 kids in U6. Our membership has been going up and up with the past three years and this will really help connect us with the village,” Mr O’Keeffe said.
