Suspected Republican activity in Glenville area

Two men have been arrested in an area between Glenville and Carrignavar as part of an investigation into dissident Republican activity.

It is understood that the arrests occurred as Gardaí intercepted what is believed to be an attempt to prepare an arms dump at Coom forest.

The men, aged in their 40s, as of Wednesday morning, were being detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939, as amended, in Garda Stations in Cork City.
