The club are currently looking at running the annual summer camp some time in late July/early August. Numbers will dictate again this year if the camp will go ahead, so we would ask any parents with children interested in participating in the four day long camp, to get in touch with the relevant organisers who will take names and numbers before deciding if the camp is viable.

FUN LEAGUES CONTINUE SATURDAY

The weekly fun leagues continue this Saturday in the parish field and children aged 4-10 years boys and girls are still welcome to join up, where the qualified coaches will put them through their paces and teach them the basics of the game while making it fun and enjoyable.

This current fun Leagues slot will run for 12 weeks with the usual €20 entry fee applying. Enquiries to Gus on 086 3685033 or Garret – 086 8502225 for more details. Note: The usual group text will advise parents every week of details.

U8-U10 GAMES

The club have been invited to participate in a number of underage blitzes at U8-U10 levels in the coming weeks. Parents of children in these age groups are asked to contact the fun league coaches, if you would like your child to be involved in these first step match games where the players will get to play children from other teams, as well as learning the very basics of what it is like to be involved in a match situation.

Anyone wishing to enquire about the above camps, games etc can contact Gus on 086-3685033, Garret 086-8502225 or Kevin 086-0836930 for more details.

LOTTO

Results from May 14th, draw at Jimmy’s Bar. Jackpot €1,450. Numbers drawn 11, 14, 15 and 18. No winner. Lucky dips €20 each – Maura Caplice c/o John Caplice; Tom Dalton c/o Gus; Ger McCarthy c/o Gus and Paddy Long c/o Bertie.

Next week’s jackpot €1,550. Draw will take place in The Village Inn at 9pm sharp. Tickets on sale locally for €1.50.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

This committee is chaired by John Caplice and anyone wishing to get involved can do so by ringing John on 087 9630461. After a hugely successful race night, attention will shortly turn to a golf outing during the summer months. More details on this in June.

COACHES NEEDED

This season we are very stretched for coaches so we would ask any parents that have an interest to get in touch as new coaches are needed urgently. Next season we would hope to enter team in the underage leagues from U8 age up, so again we would plead with any parents of children involved in the fun leagues to volunteer their services and help to coach some of the new teams planned for the 2013/14 season.

Contact Gus on 086-3685033 or Kevin 086-0836930 if you have some time to spare and would like to get involved with the U8-U11 age groups.

SHEILA FLYNN PARK

The club are awaiting news on a meeting with the area engineer and planner from the council with latest feedback, we should be in a position to meet both sometime next week to review planning submissions and ensure all is in order before submitting documents. Once this is arranged it will be a case of pressing on with the development and hopefully getting the green light to apply for grants etc.

GRANTS COMMITTEE

The club will be forming a grants committee to explore every avenue of funding and we would be hopeful that a number of parents of children involved in the fun leagues or any interested adults that have experience in applying for grants will volunteer their services. Anyone wishing to get involved in this side of things are asked to contact Gus on 086-3685033 ASAP.
