Avondhu Foxhounds held their first ever dog show in Corrin Event Centre, Fermoy last Sunday.
The venue proved ideal and the fact that this inaugural event secured a main sponsor in GAIN Pet Nutrition, was a major boost. A variety of breeds and classes were catered for and competition was keen in every category. There was also a pet section for those with ‘ordinary dogs’.
The hunting scene in this part of the country remains vibrant with those who oversee packs of foxhounds playing a key role in the promotion of equestrian activity and point-to-pointing in particular.
