Over the past few months, two school boys from Fermoy and Mitchelstown have been training long and hard, as they prepare for a 12 hour public rowing session in Fermoy to raise awareness about suicide, while also raising money for the local organisation, Dia Dhuit.

Matt O'Reilly from Fermoy is a student from St Colman's College, while Jack Blackburne from Mitchelstown is a student from CBS Secondary and they are both members of the Fermoy Rowing Club.

This Friday, May 16, the two boys will be stationary rowing in the parking spaces outside O'Brien's sandwich bar in Fermoy from 7am until 7pm in their 'Changing the tide against Suicide' event and all money raised will help local people, through Dia Dhuit, who deal with suicide awareness and prevention in the locality.
