An agri themed competition challenging students to rear five Irish Angus calves for beef production, last week saw over 30 short listed secondary schools present their project ideas at Croke Park in Dublin.

Putting their best foot forward in The Avondhu circulation area, were ambitious students from both Colaiste an Chroí Naofa in Carrignavar and West Waterford secondary Blackwater Community School, Lismore.

Aiming to promote the Certified Irish Angus Beef brand, the 2020 Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition encourages second level students to gain an understanding about the care and attention that is required to produce and market the highest quality, beef for consumers.
