Members of Mitchelstown Forum held their AGM on Monday night and reported a healthy balance, as this year they cleared some outstanding loans related to the Enterprise Centre. While the AGM was, technically, that of the Forum, it was admitted that the accounts were dominated by the activities of the Enterprise Centre, the Forum’s main undertaking.

The auditor noted that with loans paid off, next year the Forum would need to start making decisions as to what to do with any money accrued, there being ‘no point in having money sitting there’ for a community organisation.

Reporting ‘full activity’ for this year, and the same expected again next year, the Enterprise Centre is currently at capacity with a waiting list of companies and businesses who want to base themselves from the facility. Currently there are more than 55 clients using the Centre, according to manager Norma Harrington, and ‘between 70 and 100’ were reported to be based at the centre, but may be working from home.
