Traffic diversions meant Lismore’s main street, was given over to pedestrians, which was good news for the public, who were able to sample wares from stalls, listen to music and generally be entertained.
There was a separate programme of events for children, many of them ‘old style’ games that required no input from smart phones. Another innovation was allowing the road surface to be used as ‘a blank canvas’ for would be artists – with the medium being chalk, there was no danger of any permanent damage.
