Stephen O’Leary honoured by Cork Road Residents Association at ‘The Pool’

Returning to where it all began, Fermoy’s gold medal winner, Stephen O’Leary, visited ‘The Pool’ last week to be honoured by the Cork Road Resident’s Association.

Local man Stephen, is said to have first picked up his love for soccer at ‘The Pool’ which is now the playground off Clancy St and Redmond St in the town of Fermoy.

A proud Fermoy man, Stephen now holds two Special Olympics medals, a Bronze from Dubai in 2019 and most recently, a Gold for captaining the Irish soccer team to success in Berlin between June 17 and 25.
