A Spring Mass and blessing being held in the Knockadea Community and Sports Hall on Friday evening, March 22nd, promises to be a real community event.
Some animals will be present and people are also welcome to bring along their pets to be blessed. The special blessing will also include the soil, the air, fire, water and stones of the local patron saint, St. Mologa. Fr. Tom Breen from Ballylanders will celebrate Mass.
It’s the first time such an event has taken place in the village and follows on from the community’s live crib back at Christmas, which proved extremely popular. It’s planned to erect a marquee to add extra space for the event, which will include refreshments and music after Mass. All are invited to attend and celebrate the arrival of spring as a community in this special way.
