Irish bluegrass balladeer Niall Toner has just been announced as the recipient of the first annual EBMA European Bluegrass Personality of the Year award. He is assured of a warm welcome when he and his band return to The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth on Monday night, March 24.

Niall will be presented with his award on March 16 during the 5th annual Bluegrass Summit in Prague.

‘Onwards and Upwards’ is the title of Niall's brand new album which was officially released by Pinecastle Records some months ago. Niall played mandolin and sang all the vocals and on the 24th in Kilworth, we will hear numbers from the album that includes a splattering of Bluegrass, Americana, roots, a modern murder ballad, a new instrumental and an Irish song of emigration as well as tributes to the great Earl Scruggs and the father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe.
