Family, neighbours and friends ensured Moira O'Donnell (nee O'Driscoll) from Emmet Street, Fermoy had a really special 75th birthday. Moira's parents, Bernard and Catherine, ran the Gaelic Cafe in Fermoy for many years.

Tom Aherne's Wagon Tavern was chosen to host the party and once again, Tom along with his hardworking staff did a great job looking after everyone.

Moira hasn't enjoyed the best of health in recent times, however, she was in great form last Saturday night. Her children, Dominic Jr., Debbie O'Hare, Maria Murphy along with Erin, Olivia and Stephanie, were all present for the birthday bash.

Moira's late husband, Dominic O'Donnell was very well known in Fermoy where he ran a successful building company. He oversaw the construction of several high profile projects, such as Micro Bio and Talk of the South. When he moved his operation to England he was equally busy. The O'Donnell family are now predominantly based in the UK but they still retain close links with Fermoy and have many good friends in the Blackwater town.

MC for the party was Timmy Flynn with Fiddler's Dream providing a wonderful selection of music. In a generous gesture by the O'Donnell family, funds were raised at the party for little Alana Fitzgerald-Moorehouse who will shortly undergo a much needed operation.

Everyone really enjoyed the party and festivities continued long into the night - for Moira O'Donnell and her family it was an occasion to cherish.
