Three local cyclists are preparing to take on one of Ireland’s toughest charity cycling events as they set their sights on participating in the 26th Tour de Munster, raising vital funds for Down Syndrome Ireland’s Munster branches.
Among those representing the local area this year are Denis Crowley from Castlelyons, Eleanor Carey from Bartlemy and Billy Barry from Fermoy. Taking place from 6th–9th August, the Tour de Munster sees more than 100 cyclists cover over 600km across all six counties in the province in just four days.
Stage 1 of the route will set out from Cork heading to Killaloe, and will traverse Midleton, Tallow, Lismore, Clogheen and Cahir.
