Galway-based Keaveney Travel says it is committing to a long-term partnership with Harris Bus & Coach, citing the company’s 5-year / 500,000km manufacturer-backed warranty as a decisive factor behind its investment in the HIGER V-Series coach range.

Harris Bus & Coach is the exclusive distributor of Euro-6 HIGER coaches and fully electric HIGER buses in the UK and Ireland. The company is rapidly reshaping the market, spearheaded by the introduction of its industry-leading warranty package earlier this year, raising the bar for aftersales support and fundamentally changing operator expectations.

Keaveney Travel is a family-owned operator and has already introduced three HIGER coaches in 2026 – a V10 and two V12 touring coaches – with a further V10, two V12s and a tri-axle V14 already on order for delivery next year.

The order and delivery was completed by Shaun McBride, Group Head of Sales at Harris Group, whose long-standing reputation and experience within the coach industry in Ireland helped establish the partnership with Keaveney Travel.

The investment reflects Keaveney’s confidence in the Harris Bus & Coach proposition, combining premium coach engineering with what is the most comprehensive warranty package available anywhere in the UK and Ireland coach market. Unlike many warranty packages, the 5-year / 500,000km HIGER warranty is provided directly by the vehicle manufacturer, giving operators complete confidence that HIGER and Harris Bus & Coach are standing behind its product throughout the ownership cycle.

Beyond the product warranty, Keaveney Travel has been impressed by the level of support provided by the Harris Bus & Coach dealers across Ireland. The company’s expanding network, responsive aftersales team and commitment to keeping the fleet on the road have all played a significant role in the decision to continue investing in the HIGER brand.

Sean Keaveney, Managing Director of Keaveney Travel, said, “When we evaluated the market, we weren’t simply looking for our next coaches – we were looking for a long-term partner. The HIGER product impressed us from the outset,” he said, “but what ultimately gave us the confidence to commit was the unique 5-year, 500,000km manufacturer’s warranty. It isn’t just an insurance product or a third-party warranty bolt-on; it’s a genuine manufacturer’s warranty, backed directly by the people who build the vehicle.

“That gives us confidence in the product, confidence in the support behind it and confidence in the long-term relationship we’re building with Harris Bus & Coach. Coupled with the outstanding support we’ve received from the Harris team across Ireland, it made our decision a straightforward one.

“The V10 and V12 already in service have performed extremely well, and we’re excited to continue growing our HIGER fleet with another four coaches next year.”

Willie Daniels, Managing Director of Harris Bus & Coach Ireland, said, “Our ambition isn’t simply to sell coaches; it’s to build lasting partnerships with operators. That means being there long after the keys have been handed over, investing in service support and giving customers the confidence that they’re backed every mile of the journey. We’re delighted that Keaveney Travel has recognised that commitment and chosen to grow with the HIGER brand.”

Established in 1996, Keaveney Travel is a family-owned coach operator based in Kinvara, Co. Galway, operating a modern fleet serving touring, private hire, corporate and group travel throughout Ireland. The company is launching tours in Scotland later in 2026.
