Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has responded to a letter from elected members regarding the SouthDoc service in Fermoy, again stating: “Currently, there are no plans to close the Fermoy Treatment Centre”.
Local councillors blasted the response at a meeting of the Northern Divisional Committee earlier this week, highlighting a number of concerns in relation to the letter.
Speaking at the meeting on Monday, Cllr William O’Leary said that while keeping the existing service is welcome, the HSE and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare are ‘refusing to acknowledge what they have done’, which he branded as ‘dishonest’.
