Small village, big impact – All-Ireland winners feature in Kilfinane parade

While the singers, dancers, marchers and entertainers are always the stars of any St Patrick’s Day parade, Kilfinane’s celebration this year was all the more special following the All-Ireland victory of the senior hurlers from Scoil Pól only days earlier.

With the cup taking the role of the grand marshal, organiser Tommy O’Sullivan said that the boys’ success was the cherry on top.

“I’m so proud of them; whatever they do, they will always be spoken about as an All-Ireland player. As a player, it’s so rare and these lads might not ever get the chance to play as a team again”.
