FAF Racing, a team of students from St Colman’s College in Fermoy competing in the 'F1 in Schools' competition, secured fourth position in the national finals and will be heading to Singapore in October to participate in the international competition.
By securing 4th place, the team will be given the chance to form a collaboration team with another national finals winner from another competing country.
According to FAF Racing’s resource manager and graphic designer, Darragh Casey, it was his passion for Formula 1 that drew him into the competition when the idea was first pitched to the Fermoy students by their teacher, Mr Collins.
“Since I was around nine or ten years old, I used to sit down every Sunday with my father and watch the Grand Prix, so I felt like this competition was made for me,” he said.
