Shanahan set for managerial role?

Former Lismore hurler, Dan Shanahan is reportedly to join Laois senior hurling management following the announcement last week of his retirement from club hurling.

Speaking with The Avondhu, a Lismore GAA committee member said that the 45-year-old former inter-county star had ‘given his hurling career to the local club’ having spent some 30 years with them.

In 1993, Dan made his debut for the club at just 16 in the Waterford senior hurling semi-final against Roanmore. Last month, he called time on his club career with Lismore GAA following a quarter-final defeat to Mount Sion.
