Ireland was promoted as a world-class destination for business events to MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) buyers in France last week, at Tourism Ireland’s ‘Lunch & Learn’ events.

Taking place in the cities of Nice, Marseille and Lyon, five tourism companies from Ireland, including Cork Convention Bureau, joined with Tourism Ireland at the events.

The ‘Lunch & Learn’ events – which include presentations about Ireland, as well as networking – are a valuable opportunity for the tourism companies from Ireland to connect with French buyers, to ensure they recommend Ireland to their clients for future meetings and incentive travel and, ultimately, to grow business events from France.

Ana Luis, Tourism Ireland’s Trade Partnership Manager France, said, “Our roadshow is a valuable platform for our partners to showcase and sell their products and services and inspire the French business travel buyers they meet about all that Ireland has to offer their clients, ensuring they win a greater share of the buyers’ business for 2027 and beyond.”

Tourism Ireland’s goal is to enable 7,500 commercial meetings focused on business events this year – connecting tourism organisations from Ireland with overseas buyers to grow such events and support businesses across the island.
