Works got underway on the Glenville Road in Watergrasshill on Monday after the road ‘self-destructed’ during the recent high temperatures.
Images and videos of the road appeared from Thursday last, as things took a turn for the worst last week when the high temperatures caused the road to essentisally melt and rip away, as vehicles travelled the busy route.
The issues on the road, which saw tar 'liquifying' in the heat, were raised at a recent council meeting by Cllr Sheila O’Callaghan, who outlined that the L1522 Glenville Road between the Fir Tree corner and Ardnageehy woods, was experiencing issues.
At the time, it was confirmed that work would commence on the worst effected section of the road.
