
Ukrainian residents at the former Grand Hotel building in Fermoy received an extension on their accommodation contract on Tuesday evening, which is understood to allow them to remain until at least July.
News of this follows, as notice was issued to residents there last week, informing them that they would be transferred to an ‘unknown centre’ on May 10th. As a result, residents promptly mounted a campaign, pleading with the Department and relevant authorities to extend their stay until at least the end of the school year, to allow children to finish school and exams locally.
