Pat O’Connor from Castletownroche and his rowing team mates in the Relentless Crew have crossed the mid-way point on their expedition.
The team, who are raising funds for the Children’s Unit in CUH, are taking part in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.
Pat is known as an excellent athlete but had no experience of rowing before taking up this challenge.
They Relentless Crew are currently in sixth place; however, they are not aware of their position themselves.
Pat rang home on Christmas Day and Anne, his mother, said that he sounded very positive and all the team members are safe and well. “They are quite upbeat,” she said, “they are eager to keep moving.”
