Rathcormac calling for action following 2 significant floods in 10 days

Rathcormac Community Centre was full on Monday night as residents turned out in their droves to demand action, after the village experienced two floods within ten days.  

Claire O’Flynn, who lives on Quarter Lane in the village, called the public meeting, being one of those whose homes were flooded during the recent Orange weather warning. 

When The Avondhu visited her home on Friday last, floorings had been ripped up following the damage caused by floodwaters, while what remained of the furniture downstairs had been raised up off the floors in an attempt to spare it from damage. Outside, flood-damaged items were gathered, awaiting skip collection.
