Members of the Cork/Waterford Injured Jockeys’ Fund are busy finalising plans for a major fundraising dance that takes place in Tallow Community Centre on Sunday night next (5th June).

All proceeds from the dance, which is being held in association with Tallow Tostal Festival, are going to Richie Rohan, a talented young jockey who sustained very serious injuries in a riding accident last year.

Richie, who is making very good progress was in The Corner House Bar, Tallow last Tuesday night to help promote the fundraiser which also incorporates an auction for some very attractive prizes.

Organising committee member, Gerty Murphy, who is also chairperson of Tallow point-to-point committee, said preparations for the fundraiser had gone very well and she urged as many people as possible to come along on the night.
