A peaceful protest took place in the townland of Ballyogaha West in Bartlemy last Saturday morning, against what has been described as an ‘alleged unauthorised development’ of three mobile homes and a bus on land in the area.

The land is adjacent to the home of a local resident, who says she and her husband were informed by the landowner on 24th August that two mobile homes would be located in the field, each to house six people who would be working in Carrigtwohill on a solar company project there.

Following this, the resident says she was told by another neighbour, who was involved in the placement of the original mobile homes, that another eight would be located there bringing the potential total to10 mobile homes. This is ancillary to a bus that has been parked on the land since June 2022, which has one man living in it already.
