For most, car ownership is a necessity – but with independence comes risk. This risk is most pronounced in younger drivers and with this in mind, the Road Safety Authority in conjunction with An Garda Siochana held an information seminar in Loreto Sports Complex, Fermoy recently.
Speaking to a large body of Loreto Secondary School pupils, RSA promotion officer, Karen McCarthy outlined in stark terms the dangers associated with poor driving technique, speeding and irresponsible road behaviour.
Unfortunately, Karen had a raft of grim statistics to back up what she was saying.
