Planning permission for a large nursing home and residential village on the outskirts of Mitchelstown has been refused by Cork County Council.

The council published their decision earlier this week, and cited the fact that the nursing home development would ‘compromise the protection of the Greenbelt surrounding Mitchelstown’.
