‘Permanent solution’ to remedy Lismore’s water outages some years away

Uisce Éireann have stated that they are pursuing a ‘permanent solution’ to address issues of water outages which have plagued the residents of Lismore.

In correspondence with Cllr John Pratt, the services provider confirmed the plans to resolve the issue, stating that Lismore does not have any on-site water storage, meaning that any interruption to production will have an immediate effect on all customers.

“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the limitations of the existing water treatment plant infrastructure. Uisce Éireann is pursuing a permanent solution to address the issue. This will involve the building of a new treatment plant with storage co-located at the same site in Lismore.
