The school community at Blackwater Community School in Lismore congregated towards the end of 2023, where they gathered to celebrate the achievements of the 2022/2023 Leaving Certificate class.
The annual awards night is always one of the highlights of the school year for the community, with the school choir performing on the night.
Guest speaker was Anne Fitzgerald and many awards were given out. A presentation was made to retiree Patricia McCarthy for her outstanding contribution to BCS. Also, on the night, principal Denis Ring received an award for his outstanding commitment to BCS over the last 20 years, since the school opened in 2003. While the Long-term Service Award to the Parents’ Council was presented to Helen Scotton.
