Kildorrery local Dillon Lynch, has been named the joint winner of the Outdoor Youth of the Year Award, at the 2025 Outsider People of the Year Awards, sponsored by Sport Ireland.
The 17-year-old won the award alongside 15-year-old Katie Franklin, after Dillon set the fastest known time for summiting Ireland’s 32 county high points in just 49 hours, raising over €9,000 for Barretstown in the process.
“I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be this Years Outsider Magazine Youth Awards joint winner for my RUN32 challenge in July last year, sharing it with Katie Franklin who climbed Carrauntoohil and went to Iceland on the Tom Crean survival challenge this year, proving to herself and others that keeping active is the best way to manage having scoliosis,” Dillon told The Avondhu.
